So with the National Title game being tonight, I think it’s very important everyone chooses who to root for carefully. College fans need to weigh where their allegiances should lie.
It’s pretty clear that Big Ten fans should/will root for Texas as they are all exhausted by the SEC propaganda.
It’s mostly clear that Big 12 fans will root for their conference to win, thus root for Texas. (Per the link below, some Sooner fans may not play nice.)
Obviously, SEC fans have made it clear that they all stick together, by their SEC chants at various times (even when losing) during their bowl games. They actually chose to chant "SEC" over the name of the school they are watching/supporting.
The rest of the fans need to decide, so allow me to help with a couple pointers.
The link below, by Pat Forde who usually does not write anything worth reading, lays out pretty clearly (with some sarcasm) about how close the SEC is to dominating the National Championship picture. There has only been 2 other times one conference has won 3 national titles in a row (Big Ten 1940-1942 and SEC 1978-1980). Currently the SEC is at 3 in a row and looking for 4. Fans enjoy parody therefore we must unite and root against Alabama and the SEC.
Read Pat Forde for a more clear explanation.
Allow me to give you a few more reasons to root for Texas:

ESPN Should Push for a Playoff
With ESPN taking over as the sole network airing all BCS games beginning next year, Jay Mariotti lays out (pretty harshly) what the ESPN needs to do with his power. ESPN is known as the World Wide Sports leader, and this a time they should act on that.
While I do not agree with everything he says in his article about how "bad" college football is, I do agree a change is needed and a playoff needs to be implemented.
Mariotti could have added in his article that the bigwigs who don't want a playoff in fear of losing the bowl system do not seem to understand that bowl system can stay in place for those teams who not qualify for the playoff. The bowls are run independently of the NCAA and can/should continue.
Here is a playoff scenario Dan Wetzel had last month.

Jersey Girl Of The Day
She doesn't always look good, (sometimes a bit butter-face) but when she does look good, she looks great - and her body is fantastic.

Not much is being discussed today about The Big Unit (best nickname ever?) retiring and it's probably because there is no drama with him. No scandals, just results. He very well may be the BEST lefty pitcher and with these stats below, during the steroid era, he very well may be in the top 3 for best pitcher ever.
