With ESPN taking over as the sole network airing all BCS games beginning next year, Jay Mariotti lays out (pretty harshly) what the ESPN needs to do with his power. ESPN is known as the World Wide Sports leader, and this a time they should act on that.
While I do not agree with everything he says in his article about how "bad" college football is, I do agree a change is needed and a playoff needs to be implemented.
Mariotti could have added in his article that the bigwigs who don't want a playoff in fear of losing the bowl system do not seem to understand that bowl system can stay in place for those teams who not qualify for the playoff. The bowls are run independently of the NCAA and can/should continue.
